With the confirmation of one Coronavirus case in Anambra by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) the state has joined the league of states battling the pandemic disease.
Currently 19 out of the 36 states in the country has been affected by the disease which originated from China late last year.
On Friday evening, the NCDC announced the confirmation of 17 new cases which has brought the total number of cases to 305.
Out of the 305 cases, 58 patients who tested negative for COVID-19, the official name of the disease, have been discharged while 7 deaths recorded.
8 of the new cases were confirmed in Lagos, 3 in Katsina, 2 in FCT, while Niger, Kaduna, Anambra and Ondo have one case each.

The NCDC also said three cases previously included as Lagos state cases have been transferred to Ogun state. The three cases live in satellite towns in Ogun close to Lagos. Therefore, Lagos State has reported 163 confirmed cases while Ogun State has reported 7 confirmed cases.
