COVID-19: Abia State Philanthropist Shares Relief Materials (Photos)

Kelvin Jombo through his foundation has stormed his Abiriba community to create awareness on COVID-19 and share relief materials to his people.

Touched by the condition some of the less privileged people may found themselves, especially, those who cannot afford to fed unless they earn an income daily, one the most dynamic liberal young men in Abia State, Kelvin Jombo, on Thursday 9th April decided to compliment the efforts of the Abia State government by rolling out emergency relief materials and cash, worth well over N10m towards cushioning the effect on members of his community.

The Kelvin Jombo foundation in the bit to support the vulnerable mainly the aged and poor in this period of the global pandemic of the spread of coronavirus, distributed relief materials worth millions of Naira to the people and personal protection equipment to health centers in Abiriba, Abia State.

Among relief materials shared are 500 bags of 5kg rice, over hundred cartons of tin tomatoes, groundnut oil, maggi cubes, salt, toothpaste, mosquito repellent, 1,000 litres of kerosene, face mask, hand gloves and buckets with tap, among several others.

The foundation didn’t just stop there, a cash of N3m was equally shared among the sick, elderly, disabled and poor families to enable them meet up with the emergency situation that COVID-19 lockdown has brought upon the society.

The event attracted the local government Department of health led by Mrs Chinyere Nwankwo, the Head of the Department for health talks with focus on the COVID-19.

The distribution of relief materials was done at all the 17 villages that make up the Ancient kingdom of Abiriba, while adhering to safety precautions and limits set for health purpose.

In appreciation, the Enachioken of Abiriba, The Effa of Agboji, Ukpaghari of Amaogudu and the various village heads(Ezeogo) applauded the initiative of the foundation, and prayed for God to bless the founder Chief Kelvin Jombo Kalu Onumah.

Also, the local Government Chairman, Hon Prince Fred Idika commended the foundation’s efforts and urged the people to maintain safety tips on Covid-19 to mitigate it’s spread.

The most beautiful part of the youngman’s gesture is that he’s not a political office holder and not even interested in politics according to him.
