COVID-19: 661 new infections reported as total nears 20,000 in Nigeria

New 661 cases of Coronavirus disease has been confirmed in the country by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Also, 137 patients recovered from the pandemic disease while 19 deaths occurred in the last 24 hours.

The total number of confirmed cases in the nation now is 19808 out of which 6718 were treated and discharged while the death toll increased 506 in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 661 new cases are reported from 14 states- Lagos(230), Rivers(127), Delta(83), FCT(60), Oyo(51), Edo(31),Bayelsa(27), Kaduna(25), Plateau(13), Ondo(6), Nasarawa(3), Ekiti(2), Kano(2) and Borno(1).

So far, 12,584 are active cases nationwide while 111,052 samples have been tested.
