Confusion as two winners emerge in parallel Osun PDP primaries

There is confusion over the emergence of two winners at parallel primary elections of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Osun State governorship poll.

The two events took place yesterday at different locations in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

While Senator Ademola Adeleke emerged winner of the exercise conducted at the Osogbo City stadium, Prince Dotun Babayemi emerged the winner of a parallel exercise held at the WOCDIF centre on Tuesday.

Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who announced the result of the exercise held at the stadium announced that Mr Adeleke scored 1887 votes to defeat Sanya Omirin, another aspirant who polled four votes.

The Chief Returning Officer for the parallel primary election, Adelani Ajanaku, said Dotun Babayemi polled 1,781 votes to defeat other contestants.
