Political activist Deji Adeyanju has declared support for the sit-at-home order of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB). The secessionist group, whose leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is being detained by the State Security Service (SSS), ordered a sit-at-home on Thursday when President Muhammadu Buhari is billed to visit Imo State. The exercise which will completely shutdown social and economic activities in the South East region is to protest the continued detention of Mr Kanu who is facing charges on treasonable felony. Days after the announcement, criticism trailed the decision of the group which has recorded success in recent times. Declaring his support for the exercise on Twitter Wednesday morning, Mr Adeyanju said the group should speak to the Nigerian leader in the language he will understand when he visits Imo State. He also lambasted those criticising the group saying bandits and their self-appointed negotiator, Sheik Ahmad Gumi, operating in Northern Nigeria need the criticism more. "IPOB should speak to Buhari in the language he understands tomorrow when he visits Imo," the activist said. "Their proposed ghost town will send a very loud message to him. Those who are criticizing IPOB for their Sit-At-Home order are slaves who do not understand or appreciate freedom. "If they go on the street to protest, Buhari will kill them. So, why will you say they shouldn’t stay at home to protest? "You can’t constantly beat a child and decide how he should cry. IPOB must communicate to Buhari in the language he understands. Gumi and bandits need more criticism than IPOB," he added.
