Buhari who can’t tackle banditry is Nigeria’s best president – Masari

Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has described President Muhammadu Buhari as the best Nigerian leader the country has produced since amalgamation in 1914.

“Since the amalgamation of Nigeria in 1914, the country has never had a better government and President like Muhammadu Buhari,” Mr Masari said.

He stated this on Saturday during a rally organised by the beneficiaries of the federal government’s National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) in Katsina.

The governor, who has repeatedly wailed and asked residents to take up arms and defend themselves, made the remark despite rising insecurity ravaging the state where thousands of people have either been killed or kidnapped for ransom.

He is one of the state governors in the North that dialogued with the criminals and regretted doing so later.

Mr Masari who has severally lamented the poor security situation in his state said last year that the president has not failed him describing criticisms against the clueless leader as rubbish.

President Buhari who controls all the security apparatus in the country have failed to live up to expectations. He had promised to address the worsening situation if elected president but expressed surprise years later over the continued existence of Boko Haram terrorists in particular.

The Nigerian leader who said he has done his best, earlier, announced that his top priority now was how to leave power and be lazying around like his age mates.

Recently Governor Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna State threatened that himself and his colleague-governors in the troubled North-West region will opt for the employment of foreign mercenaries to help remedy the security situation should the president continue being clueless.

This was after the criminals he described as business men last year stepped up attacks particularly in the transportation sector of the state, attacking its International Airport and train routes.
