Buhari Sleeping On Duty With Eyes Wide Open – Atiku’s Aide Replies Cleric, Presidency

President Muhammadu Buhari is said to be sleeping on duty with his eyes wide open.

The above submission is from Paul Ibe, the Media Adviser to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mr Ibe made the comments while weighing in on a controversial argument between Mr Buhari and the Catholic Bishop of Yola, Stephen Mamza.

Mr Mamza had suggested that the unabated killings, violent crimes and conflict across the country indicated that Mr Buhari has been sleeping on duty as the nation’s Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

“We are really in a dilemma. We (Nigerians) are feeling that we don’t have protection. From all indications, there’s nothing being done,” the cleric said on Sunday.

“There have been calls from all over the country. Look at what is happening in Zamfara State; look at what is happening in Benue periodically, in Nasarawa State and now in Adamawa (Southern Adamawa).

“If there is a government in place then the government should listen to the people and address the security challenges. We have mass burials from time to time and there’s no sign the government cares about what is happening,” he added.

But responding, the president’s  Senior Special Assistant on Media, Garba Shehu, claimed his pricipal is not sleeping on duty.

“There is so much that has changed in the past three to four years in and around Yola, and the Catholic Church in particular that a true assessment would show that but for the Change Administration of President Buhari, things would have continued the way they were, or even get worse. These could not have happened if a Commander-in- Chief was asleep,” Shehu said.

Reacting, the aide of the former vice president said the submissions of the cleric and that of the presidential aide were not correct as Buhari was not only sleeping on duty but was doing so with his two eyes wide open.

“You are both wrong, he is “sleeping muru anya” (Sleeping with his korokoro eyes wide open),” Ibe said on Tuesday through his Twitter handle.
