Buhari shuns Fani-Kayode, refuses to welcome ex-minister into APC: Adeyanju

President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly refused to welcome former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, into the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Deji Adeyanju, convener of Concerned Nigerians, who gave the hint in a Twitter post on Saturday, commended Mr Buhari for the refusing to welcome Mr Fani-Kayode, fondly called FFK, into the ruling party.

“I commend president Buhari for refusing to see FFK,” Deji Adeyanju said.

Mr Fani-Kayode has recently been negotiating his way to return to the party he earlier described as satanic prior to the 2015 general election.

Several meetings he held with Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State prompted the latter to announce his return but supporters of the APC and the presidency reportedly opposed his return.

The former minister is a staunch critic of the present administration. At a time he and a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, became the only opposition voices in the country.

He left the APC over alleged plans to field Muslim-Muslim ticket which he protested against and left the party, returning to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that was historically chased out of power at the center.

For the activist, the Kogi helmsman should be the one to officiate his return to the ruling party.

“If he must defect to APC, Yahaya Bello should officiate the ceremony. We should all learn to stand for something in life. Everything can’t be about bread & butter in life. Kudos GMB,” he added.
