Buhari, Osinbajo declare assets, ready for swearing in

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday submitted his assets declaration form to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

In a similar vein, Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, also submitted his assets declaration form to the CCB same day.

Their actions is in compliance with the Nigerian constitution which stipulates that they must submit their forms before taking oath of office.

While the president’s form was submitted by Sarki Abba, Senior Special Assistant, Household and Domestic Affairs, that of the vice president was handed over to the bureau by Balkisu Saidu, the senior special assistant to the President on Research, Legal and Compliance Matters, in the office of the Vice President.

According to presidential spokesmen, Garba Shehu and Laolu Akande, the forms compared to what the duo submitted in 2015 had not significant changes.

Having emerged winners of the 2019 presidential election, messrs Buhari and Osinbajo will be taking another oath of office today which will begin their final reign as democratic president and vice president.

They were first sworn in after winning the 2015 presidential race. It was a historic victory because that was the first time an opposition candidate will unseat a sitting president.
