Unknown gunmen set another Imo police station ablaze

Unknown gunmen have reportedly set another police station in Imo State ablaze.

This is coming a day after the police headquarters in the state was burnt down with detainees freed. During the Monday attack, a correctional facility near the government house was also touched, freeing thousands of inmates.

According to The Nation, the latest attack is on Ehime Mbano Local Government Area Divisional Police Headquarters.

The attack occurred hours after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who visited the state for on-spot assessment on the facilities razed down on Monday.

“Gunmen this evening razed Ehime Mbano LGA police divisional headquarters,” the national daily quoted a local source as saying. “On arrival, the gunmen carrying guns freed the suspects before wrecking the havoc.”

The state police spokesman, Orlando Ikeokwu, was not immediately reached for comments on the latest attack.
