Twitter deletes Buhari’s ‘genocidal’ tweet

Micro-blogging site, Twitter, has deleted the controversial tweet of President Muhammadu Buhari threatening genocide against Igbo youths.

This is coming after Nigerians reported the president’s account to Jack Dorsey, founder of the micro-blogging platform.

When TODAY POLITICS checked the president’s tweet, it indicted it has been deleted.

“This Tweet is no longer available,” Twitter said.

Buhari, a retired military general, had threatened to deploy his civil war experience in an attempt to quell attacks on infrastructures destroyed nationwide.

His remarks where described as genocidal by Nigerians who lambasted him for not issuing such threats to bandits but rather chooses to appeal to the criminals abducting schoolchildren and demanding ransom.
