Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, has declared interest to contest next year’s presidential election.
Mr Tinubu who met with President Muhammadu Buhari said he visited the Nigerian leader to inform him of his interest in the race.
The duo had met behind closed doors Monday afternoon after which the All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain disclosed the outcome to State House Correspondents.
“I have informed the President of my ambition but I have not informed Nigerians yet, I am still consulting,” Mr Tinubu said.
Mr Buhari in a interview last week vowed not to disclose his ‘favorite’ presidential candidate, saying such a person might be eliminated should he do so.
