The All Progressive Congress (APC) has set up a caretaker committee to pilot the affairs of the ruling party.
The decision was taken at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Thursday.
The virtual meeting had in attendance, President Muhammadu Buhari and some state governors of the APC.
The governor of Yobe State, Mala Buni, was announced as the chairman of the committee which will led the party to a national convention where new leaders of the party are expected to emerge.
“JUST IN: Governor of Yobe State, H.E Mai Mala Buni has just been appointed as the chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC)’s caretaker committee and extraordinary national convention,” Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, announced Thursday afternoon.
