Bandits storm Zamfara governor’s hometown, abduct students

An unspecified number of students have again been abducted by bandits in Zamfara State.

The incident, according to Premium Times, occurred in Maradun Local Government Area of the state which is the hometown of governor Bello Metawalle.

The news medium quoted a local source as confirming the abduction of Government Day Secondary School students in Kaya area of the council Wednesday afternoon.

Another source who corroborated the same said he doesn’t know how many students were abducted but was sure some of the students and teachers escaped.

While the telephone line of police spokesperson in the state, Mohammed Shehu was busy when contacted, Mr Metawalle is said to be in a security meeting after learning of the development.
