Banditry: Katsina restores mobile telecommunication networks three months after ban

The Katsina State Government has restored telecommunication networks it banned in the state three months ago.

The ban, imposed on over 16 local government areas, which was aimed at containing banditry and other security threats was lifted on Thursday.

This has been confirmed to Premium Times by Ibrahim Katsina, the special adviser to Governor Aminu Masari on security matters.

“As I speak to you, networks have been restored in some local government areas,” Mr Katsina told the online publication, adding that a statement to that effect will soon be released by the state government.
