Army chief, Attahiru vows to deal with Igboho, Dokubo

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru has vowed to deal with separatist elements disturbing the peace of the country.

The army chief was reacting to the breakaway pronouncement made by two secessionists, Sunday Adeyemo and Asari Dokubo.

While Mr Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho declared the breakaway of the South-West region from the country, Mr Dokubo announced the formation of Biafra Customary Government comprising of the South-East and South-South geo-political zones.

“The Nigerian Army under my leadership would remain proactive and jointly work with other security agencies to decisively deal with threats facing the nation,” Attahiru said in Uyo, at the first Commanding Officers’ Workshop 2021.

“The Nigerian Army under my watch remains resolute and is poised more than ever before to decisively deal with individuals or groups that threaten the peace, security and stability of our great nation,” he asseverated.
