APC support group bypasses #TwitterBan, uses VPN to tweet

A Twitter handle belonging to a support group of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has bypassed the ban placed on Twitter by the federal government led by its party.

The Buhari regime through its spokesperson, Lai Mohammed, had ordered the indefinite suspension of the giant social networking site after accusing it of double standard by deleting a remark of the president adjudged genocidal.

Despite the ban, Nigerians opted for Virtual Private Network (VPN) to gain access to the site said to be a source of livelihood to many.

By tweeting after the ban became effective early Saturday morning, the APC group, through its Twitter handle has obviously made use of the VPN to enable it tweet.

The group was asking millions of its followers on the micro-blogging platform to follow its trenchat page.

“Kindly follow @APCNigeria at http://trenchat.com,” it tweeted Saturday morning.
