Angry mob goes on rampage as Buhari commissions Katsina overhead bridge

Security operatives were stoned on Thursday shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned the Kofar Kaura Overhead Bridge project in Katsina metropolis.

Multimedia reports on social media seen by TODAY POLITICS showed security operatives including the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) avoiding some youths in the area who were on rampage.

Mr Buhari had commissioned the bridge and was on his way out when residents began hurling stones and other dangerous objects at the president’s convoy.

Bonfires were made across nearby roads in the vicinity with shouts of Bamaiyi (signalling rejection) renting the air.

Police spokesman in the state, Gambo Isah, was not immediately reachable for comments on what transpired.
