Akeredolu re-elected Ondo governor

Rotimi Akeredolu, the incumbent governor of Ondo State, has been re-elected for another term of four years.

Mr Akeredolu who ran on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) trounced his deputy, Agboola Ajayi, and Eyitayo Jegede, who were his major opponent in the race that had 17 participants.

He scored 292, 830 votes according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) an has been declared winner of the October 10 exercise.

Mr Jegede, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 195, 791 votes while Ajayi who sought to succeed his principal came third with 69,127 votes.
