Again, Miyetti Allah speaks on Fulani owning Nigeria

The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has reacted to comments accredited to it wherein the cattle-breeding umbrella body of herdsmen claimed the Fulani tribe owns Nigeria.

In an interview with a national daily, the national president of the organisation, Bello Bodejo, claimed that not only does the tribe own Nigeria, having produced most of its leaders, it must also rule the country till eternity.

Nigerians mostly from the opposing camp condemned the comments accredited to the leader of the group. The Muslim Right Concerns (MURIC) which condemned the statement asked the body to confirm it made such a statement which it described as divisive.

But in a statement on Sunday, Mr Bodejo denied making such remarks saying the enemies of the tribe were at work. He refused to confirm or deny he granted the interview.

“I want to state clearly and unequivocally that this news report is a blatant fabricated lie,” he said in a statement titled Refuting News Reports.

“It is actually the enemies of the Fulbe people that are at it again, as always, concocting such insidious and malicious falsehood against our people for their diabolical agenda against the Nigerian state,” he added.
