Again, FCT leads as Nigeria records 386 fresh COVID-19 infections

With the announcement of 386 fresh cases, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is uninterruptedly leading for the third time in the daily data of Coronavirus disease infections in the country.

The nation’s capital had on Thursday overtaken Lagos State, one of the hotbeds of the deadly virus. In the latest daily data published by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), FCT is leading with 130 cases out of 18 states where the new infections were confirmed.

Lagos followed with 65 cases, Ondo(37), Osun(29), Plateau(23), Rivers(15), Enugu(14), Nasarawa(12), Bayelsa(11), Ebonyi(11), Ekiti(9), Oyo(8), Edo(8), Abia(6), Ogun(3), Katsina(3), while Imo and Adamawa had one case each.

The new 386 cases brings the total number of confirmed infections nationwide to 43,537 out of which 20,087 have been treated and discharged while the death toll increased to 883 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Also, in the past 24 hours, 522 patients recovered from the pandemic disease while 4 fatalities were recorded nationwide.
