Abia police station attacked, properties set ablaze

Attacks on security facilities in the Southern part of the country continued on Sunday with the attack on the divisional police headquarters at Trademore Estate in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

Spokesman of the state police command, Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed the attack on the station, Channel TV reported.

While no life was lost during the attack, Mr Ogbonna said a police officer on duty was injured and has been rushed to the hospital for treatment.

He added that patrol vehicles, motorcycles, office documents among others were all set ablaze by the unknown gunmen.
