675 fresh COVID-19 cases reported in Nigeria, total nears 21,000

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC has announced the confirmation of 675 fresh cases of Coronavirus disease in the country.

In its latest data released Monday night, the disease agency also announced the recovery of 230 patients while confirming the death of 7 patients in the last 24 hours.

With the new figure, the total number of confirmed cases of the pandemic in the country stand at  20919 out of which 7109 have been treated and discharged while the death toll increased to 525 in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 675 new cases are reported from 21 states- Lagos(288), Oyo(76), Rivers(56), Delta(31), Ebonyi(30), Gombe(28), Ondo(20), Kaduna(20), Kwara(20), Ogun(17), FCT(16), Edo(13), Abia(10), Nasarawa(9), Imo(9),Bayelsa(8), Borno(8), Katsina(8), Sokoto(3), Bauchi(3) and Plateau(2).

While 115,760 samples have been tested nationwide, 13,285 are currently active cases in the country.
