President Muhammadu Buhari has clocked five years since he took over the affairs of the country.

Elected in 2015, Mr Buhari defeated an incumbent president to clinch the position he sought severally for. Riding on the change mantra, he historically thwarted the reign of then ruling now opposing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Until it lost power in 2015, the PDP had been piloting the affairs of the country since the return to democracy in 1999. Its attempt to return to power in 2019 was unsuccessful as Buhari ended up defeating its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president.

As he marks his first year of another four-year tenure, Nigerians on social media have expressed mixed reactions on his performances with many criticising the president.

Below are some reactions captured on Twitter.
