2023: Peter Obi emerges Labour party presidential candidate

Peter Obi, former Anambra State governor, on Monday, emerged the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP).

Mr Obi emerged after two aspirants of the party – Pat Utomi and Joseph Faduri – stepped down for the 2019 vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a platform he recently defected from.

The LP organised its convention in Asaba, capital of Delta State.

The opposition candidate will battle his former running mate, Atiku Abubakar, who emerged the candidate of the PDP and whoever the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) brings forward as its flag bearer for the topmost position during next year’s presidential election.
