2023: APC fixes dates for primaries, pegs price of presidential forms at N45million

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has fixed dates for primaries in all elective positions and will begin sales of forms from April 22 to May 7.

This is contained in a letter dated April 6, signed by Iyiola Omisore, APC national secretary, and addressed to Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), reports THISDAY.

The date for presidential primaries was fixed for May 30 and May 31, expression of interest form for interested aspirants cost N5million while the nomination form goes for N40 million, totalling N45 million.

The governorship primaries is fixed for May 23 while aspirants will purchase the forms for N30 million, for both the expression of interest (5m) and nomination (25m) forms.

For the house of representatives seats, the expression of interest form will cost N1 million and the nomination form will cost N4 million while aspirants vying for senatorial seats will pay N2 million for the expression form and N8 million for the nomination form.

Primaries for representative seats take place on May 16 while senatorial districts will hold on May 18.

Primaries for state assemblies will hold on May 11 while N500,000 will be for expression of interest form, the nomination form will cost N1,500,000.

On Friday, the party fixed April 20 for a post-convention national executive committee (NEC) meeting.

According to the party, the meeting would consider its schedule for the primaries ahead of the 2023 elections and other relevant business.
