2019: Why Buhari Needs To Go For Mental Health Test – Atiku

Days after the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) called on all presidential candidates to submit themselves for a mental health test, Atiku Abubakar, the 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated why President Muhammadu Buhari needs the test.

Messer Abubakar and Buhari are major presidential candidates for the next year’s election.

The president is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

For the former vice president popularly known as Atiku, the president needs the test because he is completely unaware of happenings around the country.

The PDP flag bearer, in a statement by his spokesman, Paul Ibe, also attacked the performance of the APC candidate saying the president’s only achievement is to supervise Nigerians into poverty.

He listed insecurity, job losses and extreme poverty suffered by 90 million Nigerians as the achievements of the president.

The former vice president criticized the president for claiming on Friday that his adminstration has defeated Boko Haram terrorists while the proscribed group was having a field day in some parts of the country with about 700 soldiers reportedly missing in action.

“Faced with such delusions and obvious denial of reality by President Buhari, it has become expedient to revisit the demand by the Coalition of United Political Parties for all Presidential candidates to submit themselves for a mental health test because clearly someone has badly lost touch with happenings around him,” Atiku’s statement partly read.

The PDP candidate also advised the president to address the corruption allegation involving members of his family.

“And, for the umpteenth time, we call on President Muhammadu Buhari to come clean on the faceless people behind Keystone Bank and Etisalat. Nigerians deserve to know how people who used to beg for N2000 transport money, as revealed by Buhari’s right hand man, Buba Galadima, are now suddenly wealthy enough to acquire multi billion dollar investments.”

While pledging to present himself for the mental health test and advising the president to follow suit, Atiku said he is ready to tackle Buhari in a presidential debate where he would outline is plans to drive away unemployment and fight poverty to a stand still.
